DR. ANTONIO TENDERO
Dr. T has learned a lot from raising three daughters and three sons (not pictured). Being a father (and watching his wife Jenn mother) has prepared him uniquely for leading Journey Academy. With his doctorate in English Education from Columbia University, Dr. T has learned with elementary, middle schoolers, high schoolers, undergrads and graduate students in public, charter, private and homeschool settings. He has been deeply influenced by his church planting, prayer mobilization and ministry start-up initiatives serving as a non-profit director, pastor and elder. In a summer-to-come, he hopes to hike the Camino Del Rey in Spain with Jenn.
Cheryl loves to learn! She sees everything in life as an opportunity to learn. Her own education in homeschool, charter school, public high school, and Christian-based university has increased her passion for individualized learning. Since sixth grade, Cheryl has felt called to education. With a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Bible, Cheryl is passionate about integrating Christ into every area of learning. Outside of school, Cheryl is active with her small group Bible study and a multi-generational Sunday school class that she has been part of since the age of four. She also enjoys organizing, decluttering, and being in God’s creation.
